FAMILY SUPPORT SERVICES INFORMATION AND REFERRAL

If you have a developmental disability and live at home with your family or have a family member who is eligible for OPWDD services who lives with you, Cerebral Palsy of Westchester staff can provide information, guidance and referrals. In addition, we can help you navigate NYS’s FSS Program.

New York State’s Office of People with Developmental Disabilities Family Support Services (OPWDD FSS) Program helps families who are caring at home for a relative with a developmental disability; providing aid to the caregiver, enhancing family stability and preserving family unity. The program strongly recognizes the important work performed by families in fostering natural supports that help individuals living at home fully participate in their communities. Its goal is to help families care for their loved one with a developmental disability at home for as long as desired.

INFORMATION AND REFERRAL
Provides information on topics such as disabilities, services offered within the community, government benefits, support groups and case management services to all interested individuals.

SHORT TERM FAMILY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
This program assists individuals with applying for eligibility for the New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) service system. Once eligible for the OPWDD service system we assist families whose children are not eligible for Medicaid with the process of applying for and maintaining OPWDD in-home services.

For more information please contact the FSS Coordinator at 914-937-3800 ext. 234 or email info@cpwestchester.org
