The Saturday Explorers program meets every Saturday from 10am-2pm, and is designed to promote the benefits of recreation activities for children through young adults with special needs. Activities include arts and crafts, music and dance, game room activities (board games, Wii, Youtube) and holiday events, as well as outdoor time at our adaptive playground Harmony Park, and summer swimming at our on-campus pool. Activities are held on our Rye Brook campus, with occasional off-site excursions. Each activity is guided by a leader and adapted to fit everyone’s needs to ensure meaningful participation.
CPW hosts an adaptive sports program during the school breaks. With a focus on increasing physical activity, the program engages children, teenagers and young adults in adaptive sports and creative arts. The program is open to individuals, ages 6 and up, on the autism spectrum as well as those with differing abilities.
OPWDD Waivers are accepted for both programs for children who are eligible for services through the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD). Private pay and Self-Direction options are also available.
